Tulsa is the 2nd largest city in the state of Oklahoma with a population of over 400,000 people. In the Tulsa Metro there is close to one million people. Tulsa is the county seat of Tulsa County, but parts of the area extend into Osage County, Rogers County, and Wagoner County.

Tulsa is home to teams to compete in NCAA Division I at Oral Roberts University Golden Eagles and the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. The University of Tulsa’s basketball program made it to the sweet sixteen and the elite eight, and the football team played in the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl.

Tulsa is home to the prestigious Southern Hills Golf Course which has hosted 3 U. S. Opens and 4 PGA Championships.

The largest newspaper is the Tulsa World. It is the second-largest newspaper in the state. Tulsa also boasts an international airport, the Tulsa International Airport.

Tulsa hosts a yearly Comic Con which attracts thousands.

Tulsa has robust city services. The Fire Department is one of the largest in the nation and has over 676 members and 30 stations. The Fire Chief is Ray Driskell. The Police Chief is Chuck Jordan. The department responds to hundreds of thousands of calls a year.

Tulsa is a very fit city. Tulsa has over ten CrossFit facilities.

Tulsa is home to a large Hispanic community. There are around 50,000 Latinos in the city.
