San Antonio has some of the world’s finest culture. From art-house cinemas, galleries, and theaters, you can get all the arts your heart desires right here! Here is just a small sample of what’s in store for you:
The Majestic is San Antonio’s crown jewel of the theater district. Here you’ll have Beethoven to Broadway in a 1929 structure of beautiful Spanish Mediterranean architecture. With over 2,200 seats, you can enjoy the works from high caliber artists like Bill Maher, Jerry Seinfeld, Lyle Lovett, and more. When the show is done, Bohanan’s is the place to go for an after-theater bite to eat or an evening cocktail.
Zollie Glass Studio
Situated in the Lavaca neighborhood of San Antonio is this functional art studio run by Jake Zollie Harper. This is a classroom. This is a studio. This is a workspace. There are four glassblowers here that are perfecting a craft that is hard to find these days. Opened since 2009, this laid-back studio offers multi-level courses for anyone that wants to learn the unique art of glassblowing.
If you like cookies and you love wine, then this is a must-do for you! This independent artist-ran gallery is the creation of Amada Claire Miller, and she is proud to present to San Antonio, and all those who travel here, the city’s emerging artists. There are over 30 artists exhibiting here, some from the Austin area, such as the collective Ink Tank and others.
